Healesville, the valley's main town, is roughly 65 kilometres north-east of central Melbourne. The Chocolaterie is about an hour from the city, and the drive home from Warburton is about an hour and forty minutes.

Warburton is already in the day: it is about thirty minutes east of Healesville and on the road home, so the river walk and the Redwood Forest are the normal afternoon leg. The Dandenong Ranges and Puffing Billy sit in a different direction, so adding them makes a custom two-area plan needing its own route and reserved-time check, confirmed in writing before booking.
